Title: Problem with Whatsapp
Post by: ignis_20 on January 21, 2012, 04:18:09 AM
Hello! I've used youwave for 3 months but recently I have problems with Whatsapp. In the installation process I haved to install the old version (with the new I can't register my number) after that i could use the service only with advertisment that says to me "your whatsapp version is too old and maybe no longer functions. Please download the lastest version from our site" but this lastest version doesn't run (i don't know why), when I see this ad i push back and whatsapp works perfectly.

But recently when I open the software i see this:

I have try clear data, uninstall and install but nothing works   :(

Could anyone help me? thanks (sorry for my english)

The latest version doesn't work directly... but usually updating works, I have done it myself today...
Just install the latest WhatsApp when the application asks you for it....

In your case WhatsApp doesn't work anymore, follow these steps:
- Remove WhatsApp
- Install another old version of WhatsApp
- Register your phone number
- Update WhatsApp, when WhatsApp asks you for it

If that doesn't work I would recommend you to format or re-install YouWave and start over...

thanks for your answer, uninstall and install again worked, but I have the same problem with the actualization, and usually I have the same error with messages.

When I try make the actualization it doesn't works  :-\ and only said "aplication not installed"

Yes but this usuall happens before you register your pone number
After your phone number is registered, it should update with no problem.

If you did exactly that and it still doesn't work. Paste this path in your directory adress bar: %USERPROFILE%\.Virtualbox\HardDisks
There are 2 VDI files in this directory:
- youwave_vm01.vdi (Data Disc)
- youwave_vm01_golden.vdi (Formatted Disc)
(Purpose of 2nd disc: Is to manually reset Youwave when needed, by copying and renaming it to "youwave_vm01.vdi")

If that didn't work either: I would try to uninstall the entire YouWave (not the re-install option)
After it's done removing, then install it again, this way you can make sure the OS isn't contaminated.

I have the same problem when installing the bundled Whatsapp apk with YouWave.
It says too old version and refuse to install.
Hence, goto Whatsapp site, download the latest apk, copy to
C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\youwave\android apps
Then at YouWave, View -> Redraw icon, and install the new Whatsapp apk

After installing the apk download direct from Whatsapp, it works as smooth as it should be.

We need to clarify here. YouWave software does not bundle with Whatsapp. The Whatsapp icon you see from "Online Content" is a hyperlink to Whatsapp's official site. It should download the latest app. We will check to see whether the link has been obsolete.

You may wonder - what is this "Online Content" in the program? It is just a normal webpage shown the software.
