« on: February 06, 2015, 08:07:16 PM »

You can use YouWave Home version together with Charles Web Debugging Proxy to analyze networking packets in your app of interest or YouWave's internal browser. Follow these simple steps:

1. Add an HTTP proxy in Charles: Menu Proxy->Proxy Settings...  Enter Http Proxy Port number. The default is 8888.
2. In YouWave, enable Proxy server: Settings->Proxy setting. Enter proxy hostname: and port number same as the port number in Step 1 (8888 in default). Note: is the local host IP address from Android's point of view.
3. Now Start browser in YouWave. You should be able to see the packets on Charles.

Using YouWave Android / How to import vcf contact file into YouWave
« on: July 01, 2013, 05:30:14 PM »
A YouWave user emailed us on how he/she successfully imported vcf contact file into YouWave. Thank you, YouWave User.

I'm a user of youwave. I had a problem like other users of youwave. You know, if you use youwave, you can't intervention to vcard. But you need your contacts for whatsapp. You can add one by one. That's really hard :(
So, I tried a little bit. But, I did it :))
If you could these steps, you can add your contacts to youwave. As well as to easily.

Firstly, You must have a Dropbox account. Already, if you have a dropbox account after that you must creat a folder for contacts. For examle, "Contacts" to get the file name. And you must upload your contacts to this folder. And you must go this folder with share link on youwave. Than, you must download the folder as zip to youwave.

Secondly, You will need this program. Its name is Androzip. You can download here:
And you must setup the program.

Finally, you must extract the zip to outside with this program. And after these steps, you must follow this step;
People > Menu Button > Import/Export > Import from storage > Import all Vcard files

Here you are. That's it. :))

I think you should share this mail at the forum.

Notice: We observed that right after installation and during the first run, the Home version sometimes does not connect to internet.  In subsequent runs, the program is able to connect.  We are looking into this issue. Before there is a fix, please restart the program if it does not connect right after installation.

General Discussion / YouWave is observing a National Moment of Silence
« on: December 20, 2012, 09:42:55 PM »
On Friday December 21, YouWave is observing a National Moment of Silence for the victims of the Sandy Hook tragedy.
YouWave' site goes dark for 5 minutes at 9:30AM EST.

If while using YouWave you see an exact same message as attached that says "Installation Error. Please reinstall the product." and you cannot continue using YouWave, please note that

this message can only be seen from a cracked copy of YouWave. A cracked copy is not reliable.

Please note that YouWave is developed by people whose lives rely on it. YouWave is not a big corporation full of Mercedes. Our are tiny yet resilient. Our blood, toil, tears, and sweat are with it. We truly hope to have your support.

If you are satisfied with our product and want to continue to use it, please visit to purchase the Activation Key.

At this moment, if you want to recover your data, please do the followings:

       1. Make a copy of the file <user id>\.Virtualbox\HardDisks\youwave_vm01.vdi to somewhere else not under the <user id>\.Virtualbox directory. Make additional copies to a different safe location because this is a very important file. All your data is there.

       2. Download official YouWave program and re-install it. After installation, you will see a new file youwave_vm01.vdi. This is empty with only 17KB.

       3. Overwrite the new youwave_vm01.vdi with the one you saved in Step 1.

       4. Now start YouWave, continue with the trial and you should have recovered.

Again, a cracked copy is not reliable. Please use our official version. We need your support.

    All the best.

If you are interested in having YouWave to support non-English keyboard layouts, could you please list your language/layout here?

Android Apps / How to play Wordfeud using YouWave
« on: December 29, 2010, 01:16:51 PM »
A user asked how to play Wordfeud. Here is what you should do:

1. Download the Wordfeud Free apk from some third party sites. Many apps are on these sites. Sometimes it takes a while to look for it. Or copy it from your phone SD card. Just use Astro to back it up to your SD card and insert the SD card to your PC. This step is a little hassle if you have to remove the SD card.

2. Use YouWave and select the directory (File->select app dir) where the apk file is located. You should then see the Wordfeud icon

3. Double click the app icon, and then play!

Here is the screen capture of my playing!

General Discussion / Notice: Not all apps are supported
« on: December 14, 2010, 01:28:08 PM »
Since the release of our first version, we have been receiving many users' feedback and we have been constantly improving the product. Even so, we need to emphasize an obvious point to our users - not all apps are supported. The following apps right now are not supported:

1. Apps that require hardware sensors to work, such as GPS, accelerometer etc.
2. Apps that contain ARM native code.
3. Apps that use closed source APIs, such as Google Map API.

We are working on expanding our product coverage. For example, one work that is undergoing is to simulate those sensor functions.

We can proudly say that YouWave for Android is a product of engineering excellence. If you have apps that do not work but are not from the above categories, please let us know. We are eager to investigate the issue and improve the product.

Thanks for your support and understanding.

General Discussion / Alchemy Screen Capture using YouWave
« on: November 30, 2010, 01:57:20 PM »
Here is an impressive screen capture of playing Alchemy using YouWave.

Comparing with what is shown on the phone(also attached), you can see that the gaming experience is much better on YouWave.

First of all, we hope that you never uninstall YouWave. But for various reasons, you may need to uninstall it. Although we have tested installation of Oracle's VirtualBox after uninstallation of YouWave, there could be some cases in which we missed something.

In case you face an issue of bringing up Oracle VirtualBox after uninstallation of YouWave, here are the steps to clean things up.

First, you should uninstall VirtualBox if you have not done so.
1. Check <your user's home>/.VirtualBox directory. Remove it if it is there.
2. Open a command prompt as an administrator. Run "sc query vboxdrv" to check if vboxdrv service is there. If there it is, run "sc stop vboxdrv" and "sc delete vboxdrv". This deletes the vboxdrv service installed in your system.
3. Start regedit as an administrator. And search strings that has "VBox" or "youwave". Delete those entries.

After this, reinstall Oracle VirtualBox. Now it should will run.

Please note that YouWave for Android currently does not work together with Oracle VirtualBox due to conflicting libraries. We are working on solving this conflict and in the future users of VirtualBox can still run YouWave for Android software.
