No need to re-invent the wheel (and possibly get Google looking at you too closely...)- it seems that Archos set it up so that the '/system/app' directory has aliases to the '/data/test/froyo/system' folder which is unprotected, allowing the core Google apps to work seamlessly there.  There's more about it here:

It would be wonderful to get that working, as it would allow me to test apps that use the calendar, etc.  Without that functionality, YouWave isn't of much use to me.

Suggestions and Feedback / Don't send passwords in cleartext!

Please turn off the setting to send the user's password to a newly-created account's email address.  This is horrible security practice.   If a user is too dumb to securely note their password or remember it from 5 minutes ago, they can go through the hassle of resetting their password; Please don't punish the rest of us with an easily-searched password that can be used to compromise our account and any other accounts with identical (for shame) or similar to the password we use with you.

Using YouWave Android / Add a Google Account?
« on: October 03, 2011, 06:49:36 PM »
Is it possible to connect to a Google account?  The only option seems to be Add an Exchange Account (it jumps straight to that rather than asking what type of account you want to create).  Also, running Dev Tools > Google Login Service crashes Dev Tools.

Is it possible to reset everything on the YouWave virtual machine to how it was when first installed?
