Suggestions and Feedback / Re: Suggestion
« on: May 01, 2012, 04:10:13 PM »
I agree with the 7-days period. It's really short if you think it well.
I've been with YouWave since March I think... and I'm still testing apps, because of the limitations:

1. Apps that require hardware sensors to work, such as GPS, accelerometer etc.
2. Apps that contain ARM native code.
3. Apps that use closed source APIs, such as Google Map API.

A normal user, not knowing that stuff in a period of 7 days, wouldn't buy the app for a logical reason: Maybe his favorite app or the one that he needs isn't supported by YouWave.

Can we wait for this feature in a future? (sounds like a tongue twister ::))

// Before I start replying, sorry to everyone but I'll try to give some support in spanish, ok? :) //

Victor, por favor sería útil que nos enviaras screenshots o explicaras especificamente (en español) en que momento colapsa YouWave, ya que así podríamos ayudarte mejor. ¿Ok? Agradecería la pronta respuesta.

Saludos.

1) Delete cache / app data.
2) Re-install.
3) Check out this post from the admin:

Since the release of our first version, we have been receiving many users' feedback and we have been constantly improving the product. Even so, we need to emphasize an obvious point to our users - not all apps are supported. The following apps right now are not supported:

1. Apps that require hardware sensors to work, such as GPS, accelerometer etc.
2. Apps that contain ARM native code.
3. Apps that use closed source APIs, such as Google Map API.

We are working on expanding our product coverage. For example, one work that is undergoing is to simulate those sensor functions.

We can proudly say that YouWave for Android is a product of engineering excellence. If you have apps that do not work but are not from the above categories, please let us know. We are eager to investigate the issue and improve the product.

Thanks for your support and understanding.

Seriously, I don't really understand where the apps (asking for a "rooted" device) fit. This happened to me with GameCIH / CheatEngine.

Using YouWave Android / Re: Strange bug (?)

That's really weird.
I re-installed YouWave in order to verify that and the Market was still the same.

I didn't feel any performance's boost and the Android Market is still the same for me... so I'm still using 1Mobile Market as my default APK collector hehe.

I seriously think that post should be in this subforum.

Edit: Just tested v2.2.3! Awesome work!
Thank you :)

In fact I had forgotten to tell you that if I deleted the APK from the folder, the app would be reinstalled anyways... but there's no bug anymore. I'm in love with YouWave. More and more everyday.

Android Apps / Re: Beware of new WhatsApp (2.7.5813)
« on: April 24, 2012, 06:36:35 PM »
If it's possible to get a hold of the older WhatsApp versions like 2.7.3581, I would keep a copy of it
WhatsApp changed notification features for opened chatwindows, making them less notable...
also they've put a "annoying" sound on every time you try to send a message...

With no option to turn this off, or revert to the classic mode... I would let this update slip...

This messsage is meant for the fellow WhatsApp users
WhatsApp v2.7.3581

Enjoy it.

Using YouWave Android / Strange bug (?)
« on: April 24, 2012, 06:06:28 PM »
Hey there.
I just figured out something really weird (I think. Never had a Cellphone with Android before) with YouWave 2.2.2.
This is how I found the 'bug':

1) Downloaded an APK file from the web.
2) Put the APK into the Android Apps folder (%USERPROFILE%/youwave/android apps/).
3) View -> Redraw Icons.
3.5) *Optional* Install the application/game.

Ok, everything went ok until that point.

4) Uninstall the application/game. // Leave it right there if you didn't install it.
5) Reload YouWave (File -> Restart Android).
6) The app will be installed into YouWave (again if you installed it before by double-clicking the icon).

Steps from 4 to 6 will repeat in that cycle.
Important: This doesn't happen when you download the file from YouWave itself. I just put a file in Dropbox, downloaded it via Browser and installed it without any problems. Also apps/games gotten from the 1Mobile Market or Android Market can be uninstalled without problems too.

I just had to delete the old SD Card/VMI file and use the golden one to start everything from zero.
It really sucks. Seriously.
Greetings from Chile.
