I just came back to report my experience... there is lack of documentation...
The software seems to be there, but I wasn't able to figure it out... At least not with any freeware available...
I still believe it has to be possible, but that the lucky few that know the answers never really took the effort to document it.
Maybe a crazy idea (but this will bring the emulator closer to a phone)... You could encourage people in solving certain intresting threads
By putting out a price or something on the homepage for the one that solves this problem, under certain criteria:
- must be free
- app must be able to take snapshots (and save it on the SD CARD)
- has to work with USB webcams
- must be explained in detail
Just a idea, because I don't believe this answer is gonna fall out of the sky (Maybe i'm judging to fast, but this specific thread seems to be very difficult)
I had to deal with IP configurations on the server side, port numbers, even ID and sometimes, passwords and username...
The client side (eg. Android App), doesn't always seem to take all these values into account, making the connection fail.
This is gonna be a lot of "Trial and Error" to find out which apps will work together in harmony.
Ironically the other way around there seems to be enough documentation... (using the phone as webcam server)
