Suggestion
« on: April 05, 2012, 04:31:42 AM »

I have used this program long ago, but with no success. At the time, I had no idea how to install applications etc. But now things have changed, I find YouWave an excellent program.
I must commend you on making such a program.

Now, my suggestions:

1. Make a "Idiot's guide to YouWave" that is available on the sidebar, clearly outlined, however with a hide button so the experienced users can hide it and don't feel insulted  :P. I'd be happy to help making the guide.
2. Extend the trial period. I think 7 days is too short, not enough time to tinker about with it and to adjust to it.

That's all, thanks for reading.

Yes a guide for beginners and a lil more time to get accustomed to things...
Facilitation is important... I'll have a chat about this with the admins...

Thanks for your feedback,

Hi AndroidFan,

Thank you for the post. Can you email us at info@youwave.com for your guide suggestions?

Our UI design has always been a debate. Some users find it hard to run apps to begin with. The key question I'd ask is what you expect to see when you want to run Android apps on PC. Is the current left panel showing app icons in a particular directory intriguing?

Thanks.

I agree with the 7-days period. It's really short if you think it well.
I've been with YouWave since March I think... and I'm still testing apps, because of the limitations:

1. Apps that require hardware sensors to work, such as GPS, accelerometer etc.
2. Apps that contain ARM native code.
3. Apps that use closed source APIs, such as Google Map API.

A normal user, not knowing that stuff in a period of 7 days, wouldn't buy the app for a logical reason: Maybe his favorite app or the one that he needs isn't supported by YouWave.

Let me explain the 7-day trial period at bit.

There is a technical issue here. We do not block users from reinstalling the software. Right now, whoever reinstall the software will get another 7-day trial period. As a company, we cannot afford to have people continuously reinstalling the software. Keeping the trial period in 7 days will deter some of this kind of behavior. It is also a judgement call. What do you think?

I still think the trial time is too short.
I'd give a 30-days trial time and then a definitive block so if the user reinstalls the app, it's still blocked.
Always with the option to buy a license (of course) after that period.
After all, a month is enough time to check every function of YouWave.

Considering that Bluestacks is free, btw...
