These instructions are written for a scenario of a WhatsApp user moving his account from Basic-to-Home. In order to save time, download YouWave Home & WinMount while backing up YouWave Basic:

- Run YouWave Basic
- Open WhatsApp
- Settings
- Chat Settings
- Backup conversations

Exporting Contacts (VCF / V-card)

- Click phone-icon
- Click the Contacts-tab
- Click the Menu button
- Click Import/Export
- Choose Export to Storage

Backing up YW Basic Data

- Close YouWave
- Press Windows + R
- Type: %USERPROFILE%
- rename .Virtualbox to .Virtualbox_Basic

Mount vdi-file

- Install & Open winmount
- mount %USERPROFILE%\.virtualbox_Basic\harddisks\youwave_vm01.vdi
- select sdcard/00001.vcf
- ctrl + select /sdcard/Id
- ctrl + select /sdcard/WhatsApp
- copy to C:\Users\Public
- unmount all

Install YouWave Home

- Install YouWave Home
- Answer Yes when asked "Do you want to delete previous user data?" than Finish
- Open YouWave

Restore Files

- run Open Manager
- Move files from /sdcard/c to /sdcard
- Overwrite /sdcard/Id when prompted

Restoring WhatsApp

- Download & Start WhatsApp
- Re-activate Whatsapp
- Restore messages when prompted

Importing Contacts (VCF / V-card)

- Click the contacts-icon in the dockable-app area
- Not Now
- Click Import/Export contacts
- Click Import from Storage
You can also use
PowerISO instead of
WinMount, instructions will be different.
