HOW TO CHANGE PROFILE PICTURE

If you have YouWave Home
You can add pictures to C:\Users\Public and they will appear in the following YouWave folder: /SDCARD/c/
If you have windows XP, you need to create C:\Users\Public

If you have YouWave Basic
You can use a number of cloud storage apps to transfer your pictures:
- DropBox
- SkyDrive
- Google Drive
- 4Shared
- Ubuntu One Files
- PhotoBucket (pics only)

Once the files are in youwave, you can pick the profile pic as if it were a real phone

yup... i know those..have es file manager.... have files in gallery...... sending pics is fine in whats app...nut setting up profile pic is not happening...see scrrenshot in my main post

Seems like a bug, could you install Photo Gallery (Fish Bowl) and try selecting your profile pic thru that?

installed Photo Gallery (Fish Bowl) .. but when i open whats app to select an image same error as in my main post....
meanwhile after oPening photo fish.. i see only three options
SHARE..ROTATE...MOVE
WHEN CLICK ON SHARE,...SHOWING WHATSAPP...BUT ITS NOT TO SHARE AS PROFILE PIC..SHARE TO A CONTACT

If the post of Danny1968 doesnt help you, we can only encourage you to try out 3rd party Image Galleries. We currently have very little knowledge on how to work-around this issue...

We need more data on how to work around this issue, please let us know if you find out that Fish Bowl or another Image Galery fixed your issue.

Downloaded and installed FISH BOWL PHOTO GALLERY, then from DROPBOX download my picture into FISH(PS:I already had photos in gallery but again followed the same as his post) and then
Profile --->left click click on empty picture .. same error....
CAn you team view(remote desktop) me??

We don't provide Remote Desktop Support, you could try other Photo Galleries like:
Photo Gallery - PHOTOBOX 1.1.1 (by PHOTOBOX Ltd.)
flayvr - photo gallery 1.2 (by Flayvr Media Ltd.)

tried quickpic,fishbowl,changed default app to all max possibilities..still same error

It might be that the latest version doesnt work well with whatsapp, older versions of fishbowl may do the job...
According to http://www.pixiereef.com/ their are version  0.3.7 | 0.3.8 | 0.3.9 | 0.3.10  and their seems to exist a version 0.3.6 as well

The user posted his solution on October 05, 2012, so its probably version 0.3.6 or earlier
